In a nutshell, WE LOVE FOLEGANDROS! We had read nice things about Folegandros and Travel and Leisure magazine called it the "last unspoiled island of Greece". This is the type of island you think of when you dream of the Greek Isles- unspoiled, beautiful villages, great food, and nice people. The island is about 7 miles long and 1 mile wide. It is quiet with only 600 year round residents and just three villages. The scenery here is spectacular with 1000 ft. cliffs towering over the clear blue and turquoise waters of the Mediterranean sea with many beautiful small coves and small beaches tucked among the cliffs. We stayed at Hotel Anemousa. It was a great, inexpensive place perched on a cliff above the sea. The views were great and the rooms were very, very nice. The main village is called "chora" (as is the case for the main village on any small Greek island). The Chora here is a 16th century town built overlooking the ocean along the edge of a 1000 ft cliff. It is considered the most pristine and preserved of the classic white Cyclades villages (the white villages you see in all of the photos of Greek).
